We’re delivering massive federal investments into local communities.

And helping organizers on the ground get it done.

Since forming in 2019, the Green New Deal Network has pushed for big, ambitious federal investments in climate, care, jobs and justice.

After years of campaigning, the U.S. now has three major federal investment packages signed into law – the Inflation Reduction Act (2022), the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (2021), and the American Rescue Plan Act (2021). While they are deeply imperfect, they were developed in the public spending model of the Green New Deal, which includes commitments to ensure 40% of funds benefit environmental justice communities.

Demand a fair implementation of federal funds.

The movement for a Green New Deal helped pass the biggest federal climate investment we’ve seen yet. Now, we’re making sure communities most impacted benefit by working to strengthen the White House’s J40 Initiative, which mandates 40% of federal investment benefits go directly to communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis.

This report is designed to help organizers at the state level navigate the opportunities within the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act and inform their strategies for implementing federal funds to help advance a full scale Green New Deal.
